What does it take to be a Strong Woman
Within the context of the Bible there are many women who lived exemplary lives under strenuous conditions. They exude an excellent strength that allowed them to still keep their femininity enact yet be quite forceful. They continued to grow spiritually and make their mark in the world. With God you can become a godly woman at any point in your life it is never too late! For example; Miriam worked faithfully along side of her brothers Moses and Aaron. Rahab a harlot; gave up her promiscuous life to help the spies of peace and all that was in her household were saved! Esther through driven tenacity her perseverance under insurmountable odds saved her people. Deborah was an extremely wise judge, who a multitude of people came to for direction, led men into battle and helped to victoriously win that battle. Jael, in fact actually defeated Sisera the commander of that army. It was the women who remained at the cross when Jesus was crucified and it was the women who were the first to bring the “Good News” that Jesus had risen and was alive!
In order to know God personally a woman must have an ongoing relationship with Him! This involves commitment to His Word as well as times of stillness and solitude. Occasionally flicking through the pages of the Bible and pulling out a scripture or two will not do. You need to take time to develop your relationship! This will spare you much heartache! God knows right where you are; and He Loves you! One must commit to develop quiet time with Him in order to contemplate and digest His Word and apply it to your life. It is at this time, as a woman you are able to develop a keen sense of who you are in Christ and then commit to living by the Truth of His Word. Yes, we live in the world and are to interact, socialize and fellowship with one another. But in order to grow in His wisdom, grace and knowledge you must learn spiritual boundaries!
Being a strong godly woman is inclusive of many things. It takes a strong woman to organize and efficiently run a household or a business. To create an environment that is inclusive of spiritual development, positive healthy family dynamics and fun and enjoyable activities for the family, friends or workers to engage in and enjoy! There is a vast array of pursuits for a woman nowadays. Many have too often put aside God and conformed to the world’s ways. You cannot change anything that has happened. But you can begin to go forward with the Lord now! No matter how old you are God has a place and a plan for you! Many ask can a woman do it all or have it all? Hmmm That all depends. What do you mean by ALL! With God you have everything you will ever need. HE will provide a path for you to do the things He has in His will for you. One must surrender to Him! “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” Each of us have been created with varying temperaments, all of us having both strengths and weaknesses. Spiritual growth naturally happens as you abide in Him! He has given us an inner Guide, His precious Holy Spirit! What is so wonderful about God, He says: “My Grace is sufficient for you, for MY strength is made perfect in weakness.”
What really is important in life is when the day is over and the stillness of night is upon you, are you content? Do you feel that you are moving towards fulfilling your life’s destination? We all are quite different, what works for one may not work for another. But God’s principles apply to all of us! Have you experienced the JOY that only comes from knowing the Lord! Yes, you love your spouse, family, friends and….. But as a women of God you praise, worship and adore the Lord as well “ He gets Center priority!” God has a void in all of us only He can fill! You can become “like a tree that is planted by the rivers,” you can stand strong when you are rooted in Him! Bad things do happen to good people! But, you are able to go through with Him and help others to go through as well. Persecutions, trials and tribulations are a part of life. They stretch us! But, one can be of good cheer! There comes a Peace from knowing that Jesus has overcome the world for us!
Traveling is a wonderful experience that can expose you to different lifestyles and cultures. It will help to broaden your perspective and give you valuable insight. Realizing that everywhere you go God is with you, you become more aware of and appreciate His marvelous handiwork all about you! If you can't travel take a nice scenic drive and really enjoy what you see! You can even take a mall walk and notice the myriad of people and plethora of cultures; just enjoy being alive! Today, one can travel and communicate all over the world and never leave their home or office. Our world is going through many transitions. “The grass is not always greener on the other side.” True security and significance can really only be found in the Lord! Commit to being the same person you are at Church at home, school and at work. Begin to be real with God! Everything you will every want or need is possible through Him! You do not have to become dull or uninteresting or give up having fun. Quite the contrary! You can age gracefully always striving to be the “BEST YOU,” No one can be a better you than you! God has created each one of us with a plan and purpose in mind. It is a choice to pursue it His way, do your own thing or the world’s way!
At some point you may need to perhaps take time and get away from it all. It is important from time to time to take a personal inventory to see just where you are in your walk with the Lord! You can also just set aside some quiet time “To BE STILL and KNOW” and do so as well! Ask yourself? Are you growing spiritually? Are you bogged down by the pressures of life? Are you consumed with everyone else’s life and don’t have one of your own? Have you simply gotten into a ritualistic rut? Are you on a fast track that is taking you to a destination that someone else wants you on or designed for you?
Are you faithfully keeping the embers burning in your marriage? Singles are you staying close to the Lord until …? Are you at peace or are you constantly stressed? Are you being the “Best You?” I realize that there are many things going on in life. It can be overwhelming with all the “stuff” going on about us in the world! To some degree we all have been impacted. But you have to make a point to not let it get you down. Nor to just roll along and let life happen. If it has or before it does, change your focus. Shift your focus to God give Him His place in your life! Don’t let life just pass you by and not find some time to enjoy it. God our Father, Creator and Maker really does have it all under His control!
Spending quality time with God will help point you in the right direction. It will do wonders for your prayer life. Prayer is not always verbal. Praying without ceasing is a cognizant state of mind, of God’s Omnipresence. Prayer is communicating with God, prayer involves listening! Pray for your spouse! Pray for your children, family and friends! Pray for your desired future spouse? Pray for our government and this world! As a woman of God eternal life is an absolute certainty. “For It is by grace you have been saved, through FAITH and this is not of yourselves. It is a GIFT from GOD not of works.” Ephesians 2 The Word of God has power to strengthen and renew your mind. Knowing, believing and implementing His Word daily in your life is key. Your emotions and actions CAN be transformed by the power of His precious Holy Spirit! God does have a purpose and plan for you! With God at your side you can be a Loving, Strong woman of God. This is a lifelong process and we are “forever becoming!”

A relationship and fellowship with the Lord will make one strong. All stand on equal footing before the Lord, male and female. I know that some men are attracted to submissive, diminutive, women who can't make a decision unless the man tell them. While others (such as I) are attracted to a woman that knows her own mind, her own limitations and her own strengths in the Lord. My wife is a strong woman as was my first wife. When the Lord is in the middle of relationships, there is no power struggle. I always encourage my wife and my female friends to be strong and to be dependent upon no one but the Lord. Marriage partners are not dependent upon each other but co-dependant upon each other before the Lord. The two leaning heavily upon the Lord for strength and passing that strength on to their mate. Nobody, You are right my brother, when God is in the center of your marriage there is not a power struggle. A strong healthy marriage takes two strong people. You really do want what is best for one another. Being a strong man or woman does not mean doing any and everythng you want to do nor trying to dominate and control someone else.
This is why I have come to appreciate you because you genuinely are looking to encourage the Lord's Way in life and that is where it is! I always welcome your keen spiritual insight. Time is of the essence and I know you see the big picture! We are a collective body of believers connected by The Holy Spirit. As Ephesians says; "...but speaking the TRUTH in LOVE, may grow up in ALL things into HIM who is the HEAD - CHRIST from whom the whole Body is joined together by what every joint supplies. according to the effective working by which every part does its share, causes growth of the Body for the edifying of itself in LOVE."
I agree with the healthy co-dependent statement you have made. Like co workers or co pilots you challenge and encourage one another to do things God's way! Thanks for such a great Hub.. we got some in history in India.. One name which came to mind is Rani Laxmi Bai who till her husband was alive was very feminine but when her husband died and British rulers tried to take over her empire she fought them tooth and nail till she breath her last.

You know,I'm a huge fan of Lord of the Rings trilogy,and my favorite female character is Lady Eowyn of Rohan. Because she reminds me spiritual warriors,admire her courage and fighting skills,also because she usually wears beautiful white dresses. For me,she's a symbol of bold,courageous christian woman,gifted with powerful divine energies,a daughter of Kings,and her white garment-our future immaterial clothes,which will be given us in Heaven,with immaterial bodies.I feel like a shieldmaiden of God,I totally trust Him,for He gives me an inner strengh,I wish to be His warrior,spread fearlessly His word.
It's sad that when we say the word strong woman,people associate this with masculine,mean woman,who looks like a man in stature,voice or something like that.. and God-like ladies of dignity and nobility,who speak with honor,behave quite differently from modern "ideal" "sexy" women,are even called "bitches". It's also sad that feminists forgot a real equality of woman with man: an equal worth,equal Holiness before God,not equal salaries,professions,brains and so on. In God,we are One,man and woman,equal in His Heaven.

One of the threat that lies upon us,christian women is the universal immorality,in the form of pornography,"sexy" image of woman,sexualisation of woman's body,legalisation of prostitution,porn videos,immoral fanfiction or literature,declaring homosexual,incestuous acts,masturbation and adultery as normal, a Freudian so-called psychology,which denies all morals,all divine values and presents human being as sexual beast,pollutes even the most intimate,loving and pure brother-sister,father-daughter,mother-son relationships,verbal offensive slang against women, and other disgusting abominations.... most immature men and guys go angry when virtuous women don't respond their lustful desires,that's why they insult them,inspired by Devil.Doctors are sinful too,for declaring such godly women as asexual,frigid and so on.Some declare this godless behaviour a "sexual freedom"(?!) and say they're proud to be perverts.I even discovered a sect of christians who propose a "christian pornography",justify other forms of sexual activity as "given by God".Either they are serious,or they're kidding and make fun of christian morals,I don't know,their website:"sexinchrist.com".I glipmsed it by accident,but it's so sickening,I couldn't read and all that I can say,is that sadly,even some christians are touched by total corruption.
Today's society doesn't want to understand that sexuality is only for marriage,if a person wants a normal relationship,he or she can marry and live happily,but if a person wants to stay single,then he or she must keep body and mind purely,because our body is a holy temple.In the one hand,we have a God-given free will to choose whether or not to marry,and on the other hand,we have an OBLIGATION,in both cases,to stay pure by soul.
In my opinion,women and girls must develop a self-defence attitude towards this immense threat,and treat their bodies as sacrosanct,Holy Temples,we must dress modestly,get rid of everything impure,avoid the dangerous society,when it's possible,and not to give lustful men any right to touch our chastity.I have some female friends,who practice martial arts and wrestle for this purpose :) Of course,there are pathological rapists,and sadly,even the most chaste women can become victim of their violence :((( But anyway,we have to be active and vigilant,we must not surrender to perversion,evil and Satan's web,I'm sure God will give us courage of soul to face this challenge. There are many spiritual landmines designed to pull us off course! It is important that we spend time daily meditating on and embracing the Lord’s Word! Much of what God has declared an abomination or perverted is being embraced by non Christians as well Christians. This is why it is so important to spend time with the Lord developing an intimate and personal relationship so one is not so easily swayed!

You are right; “ As a matter of fact they possibly will see you as legalistic and dogmatic… There are some definite things that the Lord has told us to void… No need at all to be paranoid! What a miracle is being a woman!!! God gave us so many virtues,I just can't express how I'm lucky and immensely happy because of my gender.
May all goodness come upon you,dear Deborah,and may God bless you forever,you make me remember how much we are precious in the eyes of the Lord,how much worth and dignity we have,He loves us as His beloved daughters,so strongly,that He send His only Son through feminine body of Mary,And then,how many female saints or martyrs were in ancient times,and they gave such a beauty to the world..
I say everyday with all my heart to our Heavenly Father: "thank you,MyLord,for making me a woman!" this is one of the greatest gifts He ever gave me. :)
Oh yes,I've been indeed very radical and harsh. :) I was rather a little bit angry on that situation I described.. generally I'm very emotional and sometimes something bad,or unpleasant makes me crazy,but it's not very long,I calm down few minutes after. :)

I've always been sure very firmly that being a woman is an immense honor.No matter what earthly world's opinion is.I know,there are some people who say derisively,"oh,what's good in being woman?!,they suffer in childbirth,they hadn't any rights since the beginning of our humanity,they're weak,there were no female geniuses in history.."and all this kind of blablabla. Well,I would answer to them: first of all, physical strength isn't necessary for surviving,then, childbirth isn't that horrible thing,it's a miraculous experience,it's creating a new life,new child of God!!! I have a lot of friends here,in Ireland,who tell me that they feel more energetic,beautiful,more compassionate and more powerful after their babies.So,this doesn't uglify nor destroy woman's health.
It isn't a simple hazard that a lot of words are led with word mother.
We,Irish have one wonderful proverb : A man loves his sweetheart the most,his wife the best,but his mother the longest." According to Bible,we are all made from the dust ground,and when we die,we return to our "mother",

I want to say also,that it isn't necassary to be Einstein,Da Vinci,Mozart.To be Genius doesn't mean only creating marvelous statues,paintings,writing romans,poems,or music.Of course,they had a talent given from Him,but in my opinion,if you're blessed by God,if you're capable to do everything for Him,if you have a spiritual wisdom and if you can resist the vanities of this world,you're already a godly genius.
Were not all the saints,martyrs geniuses? women weren't inventors,builders of architectural sights,so what?!
There were instead various virgins,married women,widows,young or old ladies,who lived only for Christ,either in monasteries,or they suffered a martyrdom.Not to mention numerous great female leaders... I always remember the epic line,said by English queen Elizabeth:" I may have the body of a feeble and weak woman,but I have the heart and stomach of a king!" what amazing words...
Indeed,strength and leadership of a woman has another charm,no less admirable,as Morrigan said. :) I don't underestimate men nor I'm disrespectful of them by my long monologue,no,not at all,simply I wanted to say that we must be proud and joyful to be women. :)

Patricia, I think that being a woman is an honor! The fact that God made each one of us uniquely is so amazing… Yet as individuals He has given us all basic principles in His Word to live by. It is your choice if you want His Light to shine through you... The world continues to attempt to redefine and change those principles.
If one studies the women Jesus encountered during the time He was on earth in a sinless body of flesh; you will discover that there were exceptional relationships between them.
Childbirth in itself is a spectacular, yet, daily miracle! The Lord allows life to grow and mature in the womb of us as women. This is a beautiful experience… It is clear regardless if one admits it or not that they did not create the child it is a marvelous mystery… Yet such a wonder to behold. Children are only momentarily entrusted to us for a season! Think about it… The Lord knows the eternal destiny of each of us. He is the Creator & Sustainer of Life. It is in a relationship with Him one can grow spiritually. Becoming a strong woman means knowing who your are through Jesus Christ!
Today many do not want to acknowledge that there are physical as well as mannerisms that are different between men and woman and this should be, However this does not mean less than nor unequal it just means different. I think that those differences should be respected... The world would cease to exist if those differences did not remain… Rather than embrace the world’s ever changing concepts to redefine mankind I believe It is important to seek out the Lord to discover your individual purpose! It is important to KNOW His Word! Yes! I think we should be proud of ourselves as women! To GOD Be The GLORY!

And Deborrah,thank you for such wonderful work :) actually,my friend Anna was a victim of constant bullyings,offensive inuendos,gross sexist comments and mockeries at high school,inasmuch as she was virgin,she never drank,never smoked and so on.Students suggested her ironically to strip on student parties,even worse,star in porn videos,or films.School psychologists,both women and men,insulted her because of her morals and religion,added to this the offensive jokes and stories in school paper.Moreover,some drunk guys once tried to kidnap her,(in their logic,for fun)drug and violate her,there was also a small satanist group and I can't even imagine what horryfying acts would they commit..This shocked her so much,she even wanted to kill them,burn school building then commit suicide,thank God He saved her from this.Later instead,she remembered to phone to her family.....poor girl! her situation was so overwhelming,we needed together to try everything for her recovery..
Now today,she's okay.As she said,she's really very emotional and sensitive,she can cry or get angry easily when something or someone makes lose her control.But she's the sweetest and nicest adorable girl I've ever seen.Sometimes she curses very hard "shitty bunch of sluts,perverts,and pseudo-scientists,artists,music,clip and film makers" who create a Hell for innocent people.She calms nerves like this.
She told me about you and your amazing hub,and how it soothed deeply her heart,hurt by the past.Thank you for existing,continue your activity,you're certainly blessed by God :) He won't abandon our Anna and will protect her from all evil,I hope she will forget little by little her sufferings and concentrate on pleasant things.

Rowena, Yes! We must encourage Anna to keep moving forward… It is okay to remember from where you have come, but not to allow it to take away from where you are going now! There is much spiritual warfare that has taken place in an attempt to derail and discourage her… I think as a friend your concerns for Anna are admirable… Praise God for the ongoing Victory in her life as she continues to go forward! It is important to make a conscious effort to not let anyone pull you away from focusing on the Lord’s purpose for you… The “JOY” of the Lord” is where one’s spiritual strength resides!
I am thankful that this ministered to Anna. What has happened cannot be undone. But there is always Hope in the Lord! God truly can make a difference in your life! Your being there for her speaks volumes… So TRUE! The Lord will not abandon her! Together you can encourage one another which will help immensely to build healthier and happier memories….

the loss of our parents could not make me forget,that for you,my darling little sister,I feel enormous love,much greater than the whole world,that despite of numerous hardships of orphanage I have endured,I've never fell in despair because of you,my adored princess.

Hello,Deborah,I'm extremely delighted to discover such reassuring and inspirational hubs... I remember Margaret's comment, who posted that she was a victim of assault and had babies.Well,same happened to me,but several times.Once,I was forced by my own abusive and drunkard step-father,became pregnant,but lost poor baby after he beat me repeatedly,so,I suffered an awful miscarriage... then,it produced during war(I come from Bosnia,but now live in U.S.)..in the death camp,soldiers committed a typical war and prison rape crimes continuously on me,in name of "divine revenge and God","ethnic purification and chastizement",they wanted to show their religious,ethnic "superiority' and "domination";etc.... this was simply atrocious and horrible as earthly Hell.I became pregnant again and bore twins,and we have a wonderful relationship,like in Margaret's case.Even if I still have some psychological trauma(less serious though)from that experience,I always know that God is mreciful and loving,He gave me the strength to overcome the emotional struggles,and He has never ever laft me alone,nor He will ever do so.Those "christian" warriors weren't supposed to do what they've done,they ended up in prison after the war and no doubt,got their punishment.Today,I live peacefully,with my two lovely children,who didn't choose their father and don't even know who he was,neither do I and of course with God..I believe,one day,He will wipe away every tear,and will disappear every suffering of each woman who experienced the same horrors like mines,regardless of their age,race,religion,..suffered from spousal,incestuous,war,prison or any other kind of rape,abuse,and violence,be it physical,emotional,moral..
P.S.Oh,and there's a very moving and interesting Peruvian-Spanish movie by Claudia Llosa "La teta asustada"-Milk of Sorrow, literally afraid of scared breast,it's about an introverted young woman whose mother was raped shortly after childbirth,and her fears and memories of horrible experience was transmitted by her breastmilk to her daughter,many other Peruvian women shared the same fate...Very good and beautiful film :)

It is unfortunate that you had to grow through all of this… You are a living testimony of what happens when you persevere rather than give up you have pressed forward! You have not allowed a very painful season in your life to stop you… This is admirable! Praise GOD!
I find it interesting that they perceived it as exerting power on you by violating you! This really shows their own weakness and insecurity that they had to take advantage of you… They were in no way “warriors” for the Lord!... This only further showed their religious inferiority and misguided ignorance! To impose such horrendous treatment upon you… Remember how the Lord too suffered much pain for us on the cross! He deserved none of it neither did you… You have emerged victoriously. You came away with two lives that you can wonderfully shape with the Love the Lord has instilled in you for them!
Life is a precious gift from God! I am thankful to hear that from this harsh mistreatment that you continue to prevail! You have managed to overcome evil with GOOD! You have overcome your captives by loving the children that the Lord has entrusted to you! Your trauma is quite understandable. But it is important that you always keep in mind that in no way shape or form was it your fault. I pray that as each day passes that any bitterness turns to joy and the Love of God grows deeper and wider to cover any and all inner pain. Know that the Lord loves you and He can heal you everywhere you heart! "The Lord can keep you in oerfect Peace when your mind is stayed on HIM!" Isaiah 26. Your children have God as their Father along with a terrifically strong mother! They are reminders of God's Love for you, your strength and the GRACE of GOD actively present in your life!

I'm so touched by Diana's and Margaret's stories. Such women are true heroines in my eyes. I believe God can send happiness and blessing even in most horrendous sufferings and atrocities. I know how hard and difficult is to bear the child conceived by violence, being a single mother,I experienced it,too, but I'm still pro-life and think that we must never kill the unborn baby because of the crime committed by his/her "father", besides,it's a human being and not mere "bunch of cells". I experienced multiple types of abuse: war and prison rape,beating,torture,insults,forced prostitution and harassments continuously,permanently,day and night, starving in inhuman conditions of rape camps.I was like a living corpse,suffered after this ordeal numerous physical and mental problems,bleedings,infections, fears,nightmares,depression etc. all what is called rape traumatical disorder,but I had healthy and beautiful children and loved them at the first sight.I don't mind who is their "father",they're only mines.. GOD and my sweet babies helped me to recover and now,I live perfectly.I don't regret my choice of rejecting abortion.Some say, rape children become agressive and violent rapists too,(?!) what a nonsense.My girl has nothing of agressiveness and neither my boy,he will be a good and honest man,I know that!!!
Three stories here of women who had rape children, impressive!!! That is a true heroism,in my opinion.

Even if I suffered a real martyrdom, including "scientific experiments" on me which I forgot to mention,I know God Almighty is ALWAYS here,He and His Son Jesus Christ will receive with my soul in their loving arms when I leave this world peacefully,I will see again my dearest older brother Matija,who died unfortunately in war, he was a true honest christian warrior, NEVER EVER IN ANY CASE and BY NO MEANS touching women,no matter what their religion,race was,killing and fighting ONLY men,unlike those heathens who forced themselves on me or Diana,I remember he shot down his own soldiers,whom he commanded,so great and strong was his hatred for violence on women.He was always very tender and kind to me,he was able to face my pregnancy with me,always helped and took care of me,like true protective brother and I know he would be a wonderful uncle and now is in Heaven!!!
I find true comfort in prayer and Bible meditations,with my priest(I belong to Orthodox Church),who's like a real father to me. :)

You know,as I realized,hatred for people of another religion or ethnicity like in Nazi Germany or Fascist Italy,revenge in the name of "God" like in Dark Ages,destroying defenseless peaceful villages,torturing innocents like in Inquisition times,using rape and abuse of women and girls as a weapon of war, for "purifying" the race,vengeance and sign of booty, like for example did Greeks, Romans, Israelites,European colonialists or Spanish conquistadors,(like Milosevic's armies did to us) all these heinous crimes come from sinful and twisted material world,dominated by Devil,evil men,warriors and Machiavellic rulers invented it and tried to represent it as morally good, for the sake of "God", "religion", "motherland","interests of State" or whatever.... twisted and agressive pseudo-patriotic and pseudo-religious people misunderstand the word of God and justify every suffering,sacrifice human dignity to incorrectly realized values. That's what I understood during these days. God is always good,but people aren't always, these crimes don't come from Him and I'm sure He doesn't condone them at all,nor He allows them,but from fallen world.

Like Margaret,I've experienced callous and heartless attitude for my ordeals, such as "God knows the nature of women,they use rape as tool for their own good to blame men"--one example in Bible,(I can't remember the names, a woman who falsely accuses in attempt of rape...),"women dress immodestly,so they provoke men"; "if she doesn't yell,she's a whore"-typical Deutoronomy,old Jewish stereotype; and here,Hollywood bunch led by Angelina Jolie tries to represent a love story between Bosnian woman and her Serb rapist in a movie. Every woman who protested agaisnt it,were made fun, harshly criticized and blamed both by Americans and Europeans,... so,this should have been expected from this modern sexualized society, where elementary morality doesn't exist anymore,rape is regarded as "fun",often glorified, just an "entertaiment", everybody has right to do what he wants to get money, in the name of "high budget","talentuous acting"... such sickening "love story"(which of course never occured in war time) is "natural",why not?! it's so "hot","sweet", you stupid woman, why thinking about your bad experience, enjoy a good sado-masochistic story, it's an art---Typical consumer and sex-obssessed cynical society.
BUT- even such human stupidity makes me extremely angry, I know only GOD has true compassion and true understanding,He's much kinder and wiser than all people representing a "society" I described above.I know I msut not give a damn about human approval and opinion,but rely on God's love,if people don't understand me,He does.
Tatiana, It was Joseph who was falsely accused of rape by Potiphar’s wife who made advances towards him and he then fled and left his coat behind… She then accused him and he was imprisoned! Rape is never the fault of the victim it is an act of domination, control and anger! I was not aware of this movie with Angelina Jolie but I thank you for sharing. I think it is important to be sensitive to the things that unconsciously support rape. Therefore I believe the protest are warranted….

Yes, I agree with everything what you say, love :) I found a great deal more relieve along with your hub, moreover I left everything what was bothering me out of my chest, lika a conclusion, all I can say now I would NEVER wish my fate to another women, ever, even to an "enemy". I will never ever put it on other women's shoulders, they should be spared in all circumstances from such cruelty, both in war and peaceful time and I admire true godly men who didn't lose values of knighthood and chivalry for women, so rare unfortunately. What happened, happened, I will spend my life in peace.

I am reading this in such a time of pain. As a single mom who struggled for so many years, I vowed to keep myself close to God until God sent me the one. Well after 15 years of waiting, the one arrived. It took me 4 months to agree to allow him to take me out. He treated better than I had ever known, honored and respected me....... after about 4 weeks of the best days of my life, the armor began to tarnish, but I still do not understand. He finally realized that he perhaps was not the king for this queen. He told me that I was a real lady and he loved respecting me, but I wondered if he didn't think he could live up to whatever ideas he had in his head. I believe our conversation was good but what hurt me the most was, I felt like I had never before and even thanked God for respectful and wonderful God allowed this man to be towards me. I had not been with him long enough to morn the man, but long enough to morn the warm, safe, and exciting feelings that came with the situation. Your words as I read them helped, but after creating all that greatness and developing all that strength while trusting in God..........I am very happy with my life......but what does a single girl do. 15 years is a long time, will I have to wait 15 years to laugh like that again. I just want to be real with God and I want that kind of happiness for the rest of my life. Single women.....help!?!?!
Dyamond, It is commendable that you decided to spend your time building a stronger relationship with the Lord until the “right one” came along. I find it interesting that this man decided that he was not the one…. It makes me wonder if perhaps he was just momentarily perhaps filling a role? The feeling of attachment and finding someone you can relate to can be exciting… But if he was truly sent by God to be the one I believe he would still be there! It is understandable that you are hurting and perhaps feeling somewhat alone but I think if you resume allowing the Lord to fill that gap and remain a bit guarded until you recover, this will position you in a better place. Don’t give up hope! Your time was not in vain because you now know that you can have a respectful relationship... I think that this has opened up possibilities for you and this particular man was just a bit premature ?
Being a single Mom is not easy and can place you in a vulnerable position. Perhaps getting together with a few other single Moms that share your same values, doing some recreationally fun things together and building a small support group will help; Or even perhaps starting a small Bible Study Group!
