PROVERBS 8 The Goldmine Of SPIRITUAL WISDOM
~The Excellence of Wisdom ~
We once again visit the “Goldmine of SPIRITUAL WISDOM!” Solomon prolifically proclaims the endless benefits of obtaining Wisdom! Wisdom in its finest is akin to a spiritual ladder leading to Heaven! The benefits are so spectacular that he showcases her as standing high on a hill and calling out for all to hear! He portrays and contrasts wisdom to a wise woman who guides you to success! He beckons for men to hear and encourage to embrace wisdom, prudence, knowledge and understanding. They all go together hand and hand. Wisdom is something we should avidly seek after lifelong!
Wisdom from above always rejoices in truth! It is so preciously respected, esteemed more valuable than silver, gold or rubies! Since he was the riches man to ever live that’s really saying something! Actually Solomon tells us that there is nothing to compare to her! Solomon being a powerful King, a man of prestige, power and presence knew what he was talking about! He was well inspired by God and here in The Proverbs he shares wisdom fit for his royal court! Both wisdom and prudence dwell together! The two collectively yield knowledge and discretion! Wisdom applied also causes one in general to live longer…
When one truly loves the Lord they hate evil! As a matter of fact we are told the “treasures of wickedness profit nothing, but righteousness delivers from death.” Proverbs 10. When you love God you do not embrace the things that He is against! However today the things that the Lord says He hates are constantly being embraced by the world. Is it prideful to change the Word of God to suit what we think is right? Is it arrogant to think that we can redefine and alter what He has said to suit what is popular? Pride, arrogance, evil behavior and perverse speech are not things that the Lord likes. In God you will discover wise counsel, insight and strength. It is this type of godly wisdom that is needed for kings, rulers and helpful in making laws according to the Word. Are our laws in accordance with the latest trends and what is popular or are they in accordance with the Word of God?
God our Creator and Maker was before the beginning as we know it! He is from everlasting to everlasting! Wisdom is a profound attribute of God! It is a characteristic that distinguishes Him above each and every one or anything! “He is the Most High GOD!”
Proverbs 8
Wisdom talks about all the right things! As a matter of fact we are told “Listen for I will speak of excellent things; for my mouth will speak truth; wickedness is an abomination to my lips.” An abomination means God hates it! He abhors it, dislikes it beyond dislike! There is absolutely nothing perverse or crooked that is a result of godly wisdom. Sound godly counsel is a byproduct of wisdom. We are not left alone to just fend on our own, God has provided us with a plethora of resources to help us cope! Praise God for His Holy Spirit!
We are told if we diligently seek wisdom we will find it! “Riches and honor are with me, Enduring riches and righteousness, In the midst of the path of justice, That I may cause those who love me to inherit wealth, that I may fill their treasuries.” The beauty here is there is a abundance in store when wisdom is on board. Wealth is clearly not just monetary because Solomon tells us it is more precious than rubies, silver or gold! Surely as the riches man ever he knows! Wisdom is a gift from God Almighty! He has promised to "Supply all of our needs according to His riches in Christ Jesus!" Wisdom has been from the very beginning. It is meant to be a part of every fiber of our lives! It is the foundation to life! What is so amazing is wisdom was here when God set the heavens in place!
This is a Proverb to read slowly in order to absorb the “spiritual nuggets” galore they are plenteous! Each time you read it you will discover something new! When you truly discover God, in Him you will find all you will ever need! Wisdom is what helps us to navigate properly through life. When we are faced with an obstacle, a difficult situation, or a life challenge wisdom gives us the fortitude necessary to forge ahead and helps us to go over, through it, or around it! To persevere and emerge resilient! With wisdom on board each life experience becomes a learning lesson! God has complete control! We must learn to Trust Him! Why not let God the Creator of this universe rule your life? One becomes blessed when they listen to the Lord! One must "Be Still and Know!" God tells us that wisdom is our primary and fundamental foundation to life, living and godliness! When we accept Jesus Christ as our personal Savior we receive the precious gift of His Holy Spirit! Through Jesus Christ we are sanctified!
Let us for a moment ponder on God, Our Father and our Creator the Author behind godly wisdom! God is Sovereign! Have you ever really thought about the fact that nothing lives without His breath of life! If you do not know God just think for a moment on what this extremely profound passage of scripture is saying about God and His unfathomable wisdom! “The God who made the world and everything in it is the Lord of Heaven and earth and does not live in temples built by hands. And He is not served by human hands, as if He needed anything, because He himself gives all men life and breath and everything else. From one man He made every nation of men, that they should inhabit the whole earth; and He determined the times set for them and the exact places where they should live. God did this so that men would seek Him and perhaps reach out for Him “For in Him we live and move and have our being.” As some of our own poets have said, we are His offspring.” Acts 17
Proverbs 8 concludes by telling us: “For whoever finds me finds life and receives favor from the Lord. But whoever fails to find me harms himself; all who hate me love death.”

wonderful hub sis
Hey, sister it is wonderful. I like this: "Each time you read it you will discover something new!"
It is because it is living Word.
Thanks.
Uplifting hub to have read with my morning coffee. I will read something in Proverbs today. They are indeed full of wisdom.
Wisdom is when you begin to battle for truth and your mind tells you one thing yet you're pulled to another. You know something has a hold on you. You get in the word and you begin to discern the spiritual powers that be. Fear will grip you when you let go of the natural eye and begin to see with the spiritual eye. That is the only way we get discernmant of mens heart and motives. Deborrah, you have made this perfectly clear that we can coexist with the unseen and that we are given power when we step into the supernatural. Good hub!
Thank you Lady D, for your wonderful bread of life hub. I enjoyed the fact that Solomon only wanted wisdom and knowledge, from God and riches or gold. Great hub, Thank you for sharing it. Godspeed. creativeone59
DeBorrah, when the children in our family were all young and we first started getting them into the word, we would sit them all down with a Bible in hand. We would set some little shovels by the door where they all could see them. We would ask them to turn to a certain place in the Bible, and being kids it took forever, most of them being very unenthusiastic. Then we would them that we had another secret, that in the backyard there was buried gold. We then asked them who wanted to go get a shovel and run outside and dig for it. They all would jump up shaking and waving their hands, yelling and cheering. Then we told them the truth - there was no gold out back - but - there was something better right in their hands. We would then tell them about Solomon, and how wisdom is so much better than gold. Wonderful series of hubs you have. Keep it going! I wanted to see how it ends. :) Peace.
Beautiful Hub. There is much to be learned from Solomon, and your work is so educational. God Bless You.
The meaning of life really-A great gift handed down to us.
Your hubs being another great gift.
Stupid kills itself off. I love the show 1,000 ways to die on Spike. People are not wise about life or about their bodies or about God and the result is that they go about their decision making in the most slipshod ways. In God's grace and mercy, He saves their butts time after time. Until sooner or later, their decisions kill them. All who hate wisdom love death. Great hub sister DeB.

DeBorrah, this is a spiritually blessed hub filled with wisdom and instruction for effective Christian living.
"However today the things that the Lord says He hates are constantly being embraced by the world." AMEN!!!
How do the body of Christ respond?
Paul described Christ as the Wisdom of God. We are to be the wisdom of Christ as we seek to win over the "lost" stumbling along in the dark on an ever winding road leading to the evil one's abode.
Thank you dear sister for allowing the spirit of God to use you as His vehicle for transporting to us this marvelous inspiration. Blessings in His name,
Forever His,
