What Is the Work of The HOLY SPIRIT
70A Constant COMFORTER
A Constant Comforter
WHAT Is The Work of THE HOLY SPIRIT?
Part I
Despite the economic recession we all are globally experiencing there is no recession in Heaven! All God's promises are true whether you believe them or not! God is able! The Lord has a limitless reservoir and a multitude of ways of providing for any and everything we might ever need in order to live life on this side of heaven. “The earth is the Lord’s and all its fullness, the world and those who dwell therein .”
Are you feeling a great void? Are you feeling alone? Does your life have meaning? It is important to know that you have a purpose. What is the work of the Holy Spirit? God’s Holy Spirit is available as our constant Guide. The Holy Spirit is our internal Counselor our source of spiritual understanding. Jesus lived on this earth as a sinless man as an example for us. He went through persecutions, mistreatment, physical punishment, being totally misunderstood and lied on, and many many other unpleasant intolerable and difficult situations for us! He demonstrated while in the flesh that despite the way He was treated He could remain obedient to the call on His life. He remained focused on His purpose and He lived righteously and victoriously! His purpose was to fulfill the will of our Father. He gave His life so we could live life more abundantly. Abundance meaning having plenty or more than enough not just materially but emotionally and spiritually as well. His abundance yields wholeness!
What is the work of the Holy Spirit? In His Word He tells us that “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. ” God’s Word actually became flesh and dwelt among us! To those who believe we have been given “the right to become children of God.” Once we accept Jesus as Savior and Lord His Holy Spirit takes up residence within us. We then must daily ask to be filled by His presence. When we do this we are able to access the spiritual strength necessary to overcome walking in the flesh. We then begin to recognize things about ourselves and those around us that were once simply overlooked. We also begin to respond quite differently. This is why we pray “Give us today our daily bread.” God has promised to take care of His children. His Word is “manna from heaven” it is spiritual food necessary for our soul’s wellbeing. I do not at all mean this in a ritualistic legalistic manner. It may help to perhaps begin try thinking of His Word as a vital daily necessary delicious nutritious passion fruit full of essential nutrients? It is supposed to be “a lamp unto our feet and a Light unto our path.”
Take some time and feast on what God’s Word tells us in Galatians 5 about the works of the flesh and the Fruit of His Spirit. God did not make us robots. He allows us the right to choose. Yes, there is liberty in Christ, but know that there are consequences for those choices. God’s Word is full of a plethora of endless examples of real people who were not very different from us. We can learn a lot from some of the things that they went through. We can make better life decisions or do the same, or just ignore it completely and simply do our own thing? Jesus Christ gave His life so we could have the indwelling presence of His Holy Spirit. Did you know “He chose us before the foundation of the world, to be Holy and blameless in His sight.” It is in His sight that really matters, because He sees us from the inside out. God knows who belongs to Him, He knows all about us. He knew in the very beginning what would be going on right NOW!
The world at large does not embrace what God has to say. In many ways it encourages you to do the very opposite. Just do whatever makes you feel good! The world as well as some of your friends and love ones will think you are a bit strange when you sincerely commit to HIS WILL & HIS WAY! ! GOOD! As a child of GOD we are supposed to be peculiar to the world! Rest in knowing that you are on a firm foundation when you truly TRUST GOD! HE WILL MAKE YOUR PATH STRAIGHT! We are to be "in the world but not of the world!" One must become discerning to know the difference! Yes we can enjoy the arts, sports, recreation, travel, and so much more. But as His children we should first diligently seek Him and strive to faithfully, daily live our lives to PLEASE & PRAISE HIM! Not just on Sunday, but each and every day. Each of our lives have a purpose? The beautiful thing about God is; it does not matter how young or old you are GOD has no grandchildren. We are all children in His sight and as long as He has us on this side of heaven we are here to learn and grow gracefully!
The greatest thing that you could ever really do is give your life to Jesus! Pause Ponder and think about that for a moment. God is the Giver and Sustainer of life! What does it mean to really give your life to Jesus! It is so much more than just walking down the aisle and… Is there something, some situation or someone you need to give to Jesus? GOD WANTS TO BE A PART OF EVERY AREA OF OUR LIFE! Although it may get difficult at times, just know it may not feel good but, HE IS ABLE! Confess! Repent! Seek His direction. Then apply His Word. When you accept Him as Lord of your life, in His time He can and will work everything out for your GOOD as He has promised! Now this does not mean at all that everything will be good. But it is true in His time, He will work it all out for GOOD… Change is inevitable. Crisis will come and go in our lives. The seasons change but you KNOW GOD IS ALWAYS IN SEASON! It is during these times we must learn to Trust God, apply His Word and become resilient. This will help you to be able to cope with any seasonal crisis. To become better and not bitter! God is able! You have been given a constant Comforter!

Hi Debborah Hows my friend I see you have been busy. This hub is Fantastic. It is very well written. I looked at the title and girlfriend we are on the same page. I just published a HS hub.'Joy in the Lord' We have much work to do but the HS will go before us to give favor on our path.
There is a huge outpouring of the HS the world seems more distant to me while I feel ever more present. Can you relate. My guess is yes. This is so good, it could be in a journal of Christian articles. For reals. google 'bread of life' if you havve any interest. My friend told me about them. I have not checked it out yet. I will be back Have a Glorious day.
Thanks for your enlightment of the true word of God, if we live our lives according to his word we will all be better children of God. Thanks for sharing. creativeone59
Thats it, its hard to fathom, that Jesus Christ is us, and he is in us in the Holy Spirit. Its no more I that liveth but Christ. I am a new creature, my life is hid in Christ.
Blessings
Thanks for sharing.
Amen and Amen. Thank you.
Well done.
DeBorrah,
Thanks for this article. May the Lord bless you as you write hubs which are honoring to Him.
He is the same yesterday, today and forever. Thanks a lot.
When you consider the change of point of view of Jesus it kinda blows your mind. He is Lord of the universe and then puts on human flesh to resemble sinning mankind. He's surrounded by sin and death like entering into a festering wound and living there for three years. They say that each person is covered in hair and skin cells that cling to them but those cells are dead. Death was all around Him. He is Life and Life was baptized in death. He knows all about us and all of this scientific stuff. How did He see us knowing what He knows? It is all so compelling. Thanks Deb, love ya.
May God increase our faith and may we never lose it in those hard, troubled times of our lives.
Thanks so much. :)
This was very encouraging...may God richly bless you!

Beautiful hub. And you're right, we live in a "feel good" society. It's not about how we feel - it's about what God wants us to do not what we want to do.
I love your work here, DeBorrah. Some one once said that each day we should play to an audience of one. I always try to remember that in my daily walk. Your article is inspirational in so many ways. Thank you for it.
Thanks for this!

Now hang on about Jesus. The rules of the Jews were when one disobeyed they stated why, and maybe to receive help, and apologised to God, and to the victims, and felt sorry within themselves. The people were forgiven when they admitted wrongdoing. Until this occured, the wrong doers were cast out. Now Jesus, went among the wrongdoers, like the criminals who were not yet sorry, like letting people out of prison too soon. How academically trained are people when they give religious comment? It was never, do wrong and you wont be forgiven. Then Jesus came along. Jesus suffered because during those times, his activities were out of place and out of position. He pushed things too soon. He had a temper. Try going to parliament about a disputed matter and say we want to change legislation for animals to receive income support assistance for vet care, when parliament says you shouldn't have an animal, but you are right it's not fair for the animal, and yell, and overturn tables. Yes, you will be known as a good person, but a disruptive one and will be put away
Wonderful article, DeBorrah.
God bless you!
I Thank you DeBorrah for I have never heard it explained so well. I've always wanted to know more about the Holy Spirit and now I know. I am a baby in Christ and I am learning. God Bless you for your insight!!!
We certainly do learn to trust when the going gets tough and I really needed to read this tonight. Thank you and God Bless! :)
I always feel uplifted and comforted when I read your hubs, Deb! You are truly helping do God's work here!
This hub reminds me of the one I just posted and you visited. "Constant comforter" - perfect term!!
Dear Mr.s Deborrah : How beautiful this hub and meassage is. The photographs in the cathedrals are profound and beautiful and they seem so impossibly difficult to build I would imagine, or perhaps so patiently and artfully created. So much devotion to God is in the art of the churches. The message, that we have a purpose in being here. To help one another, or to love one another or to be kind and good teachers of children and for one another. So much purpose if we think about it. God Bless You Dear Heart.
